A customer from the Granite State of New Hampshire (who is choosing to “Live Free” since it sure beats the alternative) writes:
Thanks for checking in, Chris. They are progressing, slowly but safely. I
only put the tree tubes around some black walnuts and European mountain ash. A
couple of the ash got munched by (probably) moose or (possibly) deer when
they topped out of the tubes–which made me that much gladder that I planted
them in the tubes.
“Progressing slowly” is a relative term here – some are emerging from 5ft tree tubes after just two growing seasons.
